TRACKLIST
A FEW WORDS
Differently-abled pop rock trailblazers Rudely Interrupted continue to drip feed their upcoming album opus Emergency, which is out on Jan 24th and now available for pre-order, with the brand new single “Paying It Back” out now through Cheersquad Records & Tapes.
Beyond being just a songwriting vehicle for founding members Rory Burnside and Rohan Brooks, Rudely Interrupted have generated 16 years of good karma and awareness, and through their many successes have opened doors for other acts in their community. The band’s raison d’etre is encouragement for those who face similar challenges, it’s a call to embrace and celebrate their own individual uniqueness.
“Paying It Back” is a noticeably crunchier offering than “Emergency” and “Christine”, the duo of well-received effervescent singles issued this year and reflects on the band’s ongoing desire to pay back the support they have received from loyal fans and followers over the past 16 years.
With gain drenched guitars and wigged-out keyboards carrying another incessant earworm, “Paying It Back” visits mindfully, hanging around for just enough time to burrow into your brain and further on into your subconscious. “We put this track down around simply paying it back”, Brooks believes “if we give out some goodness, we might receive some goodness in return.”
Brooks met co-writer Rory Burnside at a disability music program that the former was running in 2006, “I met Rory through his father who’s a music producer and invited him to join the group I was putting together”. Joined by fellow core member Sam Beke and various musicians passing through the line-up, Rudely Interrupted have generated success delivering 3 albums and 4 EP’s that has taken the band to 10 different countries and all over Australia multiple times.
Brooks feels it important to add that, “our art has taken us around the globe, so we work hard on our songs together. It’s our life blood to the world and to our community, so the better the songs the better the opportunity. We don’t take it lightly; we craft our songs to the best of our ability and as a result we have found our audience and toured the world together”.
Rudely Interrupted launch “Paying It Back” with a special Christmas free entry at The Beast in East Brunswick on December 19th with fellow label mate and rising electro pop sensation Billy Peril as support.
